25 Interesting Things About the End Times

Few biblical topics have the capability to get as complicated as the end times. Elaborate theories stringing together vague passages abound. Yet, the Bible speaks with incredible clarity about what we can expect when Jesus returns.

1. In the end, Jesus will deliver the kingdom up to God (1 Cor. 15:24)

2. Jesus’ return will be immediately preceded by a cry of command, the voice of the archangel, and the trumpet of God (1 Thess. 4:16)

3. The dead in Christ will rise first (1 Thess. 4:16)

4. The Christians alive at Jesus’ return will meet him in the air (1 Thess. 4:17)

5. The earth will be destroyed (2 Pet. 3:10-12)

6. Christians will enjoy resurrected and transformed bodies (1 Cor. 15:51-53; Phil. 3:21)

7. Everyone will be judged for what they’ve done whether good or bad (2 Cor. 5:10)

8. Christians will go on to enjoy their heavenly reward (1 Pet. 1:3-5; 2 Pet. 3:13)

9. We will be like Jesus and see Him as He is (1 Jn. 3:2)

10. Judgment will be based on the words of Jesus (Jn. 12:48)

11. Judgment will be performed by Jesus (Jn. 5:22; Acts 17:31)

12. The exact day of Jesus’ return is unknown (Matt. 24:36)

13. Jesus will come like a thief in the night (1 Thess. 5:2)

14. Those who do not obey the gospel and do not know God will suffer eternal destruction (2 Thess. 1:7-9)

15. A crown of righteousness will be given to those who loved Jesus’ appearing (2 Tim. 4:8)

16. All things will be subjected to Jesus and God will be all in all (1 Cor. 15:27-28)

19. Christians will be with the Lord forever (Jn. 17:24; 1 Thess. 4:17)

20. The wicked will rise to judgment and the righteous will rise to life (Jn. 5:28-29)

21. Every eye will see Jesus (Rev. 1:7)

22. Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord (Rom. 14:10-11; Phil. 2:9-11)

23. We must stay alert (Mk. 13:37)

24. Christians should look toward the end with anticipation (Titus 2:13; 2 Pet. 3:12)

25. Knowledge of the end times is motivation to live holy and godly now (2 Pet. 3:11)
